About this policy

This policy explains how Marteu Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Marteu", "we" or "us"), collects, uses and shares information when you use the Services. Our Terms of Service also apply.

In this policy:

• "the Services" means the site, Marq, sandbox accounts and the app.
• "the site" means marteu.com.
• "Marq" means the AI assistant visitors talk to on the site.
• "visitor" means a person using the site or Marq without an app account.
• "guest identity" means the identifier our sign-in provider creates when a visitor first messages Marq. It needs no email.
• "sandbox account" means the guest account we create when a visitor starts talking to Marq.
• "the app" means the Marteu app at app.marteu.com, including the memory it keeps for an organization.
• "You" means the person using the Services and, where that person uses them for an organization, that organization.
• "Customer content" means the content you or your organization put into the Services, including your messages to Marq.
• "Output" means what the Services, including Marq, generate for you.

What we collect

When you visit the site, our hosting provider may record standard request logs, such as your IP address and browser type. We and our analytics and advertising partners may also collect information about your visit through cookies and similar tools, as described in the Cookies section.

In Marq, we collect information including:

• your conversation, meaning your messages and Marq's replies;
• your guest identity;
• any email you type in the chat;
• your IP address, which we use to limit abuse;
• signals from the security check that runs before our sign-in provider creates your guest identity.

In the app, we collect information including:

• your account email and name;
• sign-in records from our sign-in provider;
• customer content;
• usage, device and log data, such as your IP address, browser type and the requests you make, including AI requests;
• information from tools you connect.

If you write to us, we keep your message and your email address.

Marq conversations

We save your conversation with Marq from your first message. We keep it under your guest identity, and we never use your IP address as that identity.

We keep the conversation under each guest identity apart from every other guest identity's.

If you type an email in the chat, we treat it as unconfirmed.

An AI model provider processes your conversation so Marq can answer you.

Your memory in the app

Customer content belongs to you.

We keep each organization's memory apart from every other organization's.

Marteu staff access your memory only as needed to run, secure and support the Services, investigate abuse, act on your requests, enforce the Terms, defend legal claims, or when the law requires it.

We encrypt the body of each memory at rest with a key for its organization.

Your memory holds what people in your organization and the tools you connect send, what the app creates from it, and starter content Marteu provides.

How we use information

We use information for purposes that include:

• operating, securing, supporting, fixing, improving and developing the Services;
• measuring and improving our marketing and advertising, using information about how people use the site and the Services, not customer content;
• preventing abuse;
• replying to you;
• enforcing the Terms;
• protecting Marteu, users and others, including defending legal claims;
• meeting our legal duties.

Who we share with

We do not sell your personal information for money. Where a state law treats our use of advertising or analytics tools as a sale or sharing of personal information, you can opt out by writing to support@marteu.com.

We share information with service providers who help us run the Services, such as hosting, sign-in, security-check, AI model, analytics and advertising providers.

AI model providers process customer content to provide the Services. We keep logs of these AI requests to run and secure the Services.

We also share information at your direction, for example with tools you connect.

We may also share information to follow the law or legal process, to protect people, Marteu or the Services, or as part of a merger, sale or other change of ownership.

Links on the site to other services, such as social networks, lead to sites that others run under their own policies.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage to run the site and Marq, for example to keep a guest signed in and to run security checks.

We and our partners may also use cookies, pixels and similar tools on the site and in the Services for analytics and advertising, for example to understand how people use the site, and to measure and show our ads on other sites and apps. These partners may include analytics and advertising providers such as Google, Meta and Reddit.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and you can limit personalized ads through your browser or device settings and through the providers' ad settings. We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

How long we keep it

We keep a visitor's customer content until the visitor asks us to delete it. We may delete it sooner.

Subject to the Terms, we may delete customer content in the app after the account ends or stays inactive. We may permanently delete items in the app's trash 30 days after they are moved there.

We keep other information as long as we need it to run the Services, meet legal duties, investigate a specific security incident or abuse case, resolve disputes, or enforce the Terms.

Deletion and your requests

To ask us to delete customer content, write to support@marteu.com. Any visitor can do this, including one who never gave us an email.

We handle each request by hand. We may ask for details that help us find the content and confirm it is yours, such as when you used Marq and what you discussed. We may decline a request we cannot reasonably verify.

When you ask, we delete the customer content you own, and the output in your conversations, from the Services' databases. Copies may remain in backups and with our providers.

Deletion does not cover information that belongs to Marteu. We may also keep:

• what the law requires us to keep;
• records about a specific security incident or abuse case we are investigating;
• what we need for legal claims or to enforce the Terms.

For any other question or request about your information, write to the same address.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No security is perfect, and we cannot promise that information will never be lost or accessed without permission.

Children, changes and contact

The Services are not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We may change this policy. We post the new version here with a new effective date, and it applies from that date.
